License update instructions for network administrators
In addition to the manual license update, Eurotranslator also supports automatic updates over the network. Available in both Dictionary and Business Plus, this feature is especially helpful in the latter. If the license has expired or there is no license registered on the computer, the program will attempt to update the license using one of the following registry paths, depending on which Eurotranslator version is being used. If the automatic update fails, the user will be prompted to perform a manual update.
- If you're using Dictionary, add the following registry value:
- [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sandstone\Eurotranslator\Dictionary]"code"="XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX"
- If you're using Business Plus, add the following registry value:
- [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sandstone\Eurotranslator\BusinessPlusFull]"code"=" XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX "
The following is an example of how to use a Windows domain server:
- Create a group and grant the members rights to perform a license update on their local computers.
- Add the required computers to this group.
- Create a .reg file that contains the license code [Figure 2].
- Go to the domain startup script and launch the registry script in all computers belonging to the group you have just created.
